Standing in My Worth: Reflections on Growth, Rejection, and Knowing When to Walk Away

Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of deep reflecting—on who I am, where I’ve been, and where I’m going. Life has a way of giving us what I like to call “character-building challenges”—those tough, uncomfortable moments that crack you open just enough to let in the light. And while they’re not easy, they’re often the exact catalysts for the growth we didn’t know we needed.

I felt guided to share some of the realizations and messages I’ve received through this period of reflection. Maybe they’ll speak to you too.

Sometimes, whether in business or in our personal lives, things happen that force us to pause and face a hard truth: This situation, this relationship, this dynamic—it’s not right for me. And I deserve better. No one else can make that decision for you. Only you can choose to honor your worth.

One of the hardest pills to swallow is that you can have the purest heart, the kindest spirit, and the best intentions—and still be overlooked, mistreated, or misunderstood. Not everyone will see your light. And that’s okay.

I was recently reminded of a quote from Jamie Kern Lima that deeply resonated with me:
“Rejection is God’s/The Universe's protection.”
She also says, “Your Creator blocks your value from people who aren’t assigned to your destiny.”
That line gave me chills. It’s like everything clicked. The disappointments, the closed doors, the moments I felt unseen—they were not failures. They were divine redirection.

For most of my life, even though I’ve had unwavering support from my family (and I’m endlessly grateful for that), I’ve felt underestimated and undervalued by people outside that circle. Whether it was in my art, my ideas, or simply who I am—I often felt like I had to prove my worth.

But recent experiences have been a wake-up call. They’ve reminded me that I don’t need to sit at tables where I have to shrink myself to be accepted. I don’t need to wait for others to see my value.

Because I know who I am.

I am worthy. I am valuable. I am a kind, powerful, radiant soul. And from now on, I choose to stand in that truth.

So if you’re reading this and feeling something stir inside you—take it as your sign. If something doesn’t feel aligned, give yourself permission to step away. If someone doesn’t see your worth, that doesn’t make you any less worthy.

Sometimes the most empowering thing we can do is walk away, not in anger—but in peace, knowing that better is waiting. And we are more than ready to receive it.

Sending you all lots of love and positive energy,
